STAR-DELTA starter
The star-delta starter is used for starting the three-phase motor. Star-delta method of starting the motor is used to limit the high inrush of starting current to the motor as it happens in the case of DOL starting method. The star-delta starter comes in two categories: FASD and SASD.
SASD
Semi-Automatic Start-Delta
(SASD) is a method of starting 3-phase pump-sets. During the starting of pump/motor, the changeover from star winding to delta winding is done manually.
SASD type Star-Delta starter comprises of basic functions such as ON/OFF button and over-current protection only.
